The Nest at Gundaroo is a family-owned small business providing luxury, short-stay accommodation, only a 30 minute drive from Canberra's CBD. Opened in December 2015 and with a focus on great service, we are perfect for quiet weekends, celebrations and wedding parties.
Gundaroo's historic charm is complemented with great food and wine; Grazing, Cork Street Cafe Pizzeria, Gundaroo Colonial Inn, Gundog Estate Cellardoor Cafe (generally open Wed/Thu - Sun). Book early to avoid disappointment.
Our boutique hotel has received Booking.com Guest Review awards for many years now, as well as Certificates of Excellence from Trip Advisor. Our guest books are filled with kind words from our guests. The Nest at Gundaroo is so much more than a hotel - it is luxury accommodation with a difference.
Our boutique hotel consists of 6 villas/cottages, each of which is self-contained, so guests can arrive, stay and depart without contact with other guests or staff. We also have extensive cleaning processes and Services NSW QR codes in all villas.
We ask all guests to do their part and follow all NSW regulations regarding travel, vaccinations and COVID-testing. Please do not check-in if you or someone in your party are unwell.
We will refund your booking if you need to cancel as you are unwell or because of COVID quarantine needs in our local area or in New South Wales.
Because The Nest is very popular, we routinely have bookings for many months in advance -- so with the anticipation that hotspots for COVID will occur from time to time and potentially again impact future bookings we have changed our booking policy and don't require full payment at time of booking. This has been done to make bookings easier for our customers and to give more flexibility for us if there are COVID restrictions that impact our reservations calendar. For large events such as weddings, we only require a 50% deposit a month in advance, with final payment a week before the event.
Our spaces are sanctuaries and you should feel safe and comfortable here. We are lucky that The Nest is off the beaten path, peaceful and yet close to any needed amenities and services. For those worried about COVID-19, The Nest is a wonderful way to practice social distancing while having a relaxing and enjoyable time.

All bookings are provided with complimentary breakfast provisions in the form of cook-your-own eggs and bacon, toast/butter/spreads, cereal, milk and orange juice. Our rooms also have tea and coffee. We do not have an on-site commercial kitchen or dining-room/restaurant, so cannot cater to special dietary needs, however there is small rural grocer next door and you are welcome to bring your own preferred food items as each of our villas has a self-contained kitchen.
The Nest has bookings for up to 18 months in advance, so please book and secure your villa/s to avoid disappointment

We often have staff on site between 10am and 1pm but rely majorly on self check-in and provide full details to guests the day before they arrive. We go out of our way to help guests settle in. Just give us a call if you need assistance to check in or once you arrive.
To provide more flexibility to our guests around COVID-19 we no longer require advance payment/ or deposit at time of booking.
Don't delay booking as our reservation calendar fills up quickly.
Unfortunately due to vast increases in electricity and supplies/services, we have been forced to increase our prices by $10 per night per villa, as of 15 May. Thank you for understanding.
