The Nest at Gundaroo is a family-owned small business providing luxury, short-stay accommodation, only a 30 minute drive from Canberra's CBD. Opened in December 2015 and with a focus on great service, we are perfect for quiet weekends, celebrations and wedding parties.

All bookings are provided with complimentary breakfast provisions in the form of cook-your-own eggs and bacon, toast/butter/spreads, cereal, milk and orange juice. Our rooms also have tea and coffee. We do not have an on-site commercial kitchen or dining-room/restaurant, so cannot cater to special dietary needs, however there is small rural grocer next door and you are welcome to bring your own preferred food items as each of our villas has a self-contained kitchen.
The Nest has bookings for up to 18 months in advance, so please book and secure your villa/s to avoid disappointment
With the threat of COVID-19 some people are concerned about their bookings, planned events or travel. We wanted to reassure you that The Nest will be continuing to operate and is following Department of Health guidelines for hotels. In 2020 we had many guests cancel, refund or shift their bookings as a consequence of COVID 19 (lock-down restrictions and event cancellations). Because The Nest is very popular, we routinely have bookings for many months in advance -- so with the anticipation that hotspots for COVID will occur from time to time and potentially again impact future bookings we have changed our booking policy and don't require full payment at time of booking any longer. This has been done to make bookings easier for our customers and to give more flexibility for us if there are COVID restrictions that impact our reservations calendar. For large events such as weddings, we only require a 50% deposit a month in advance, with final payment a week before the event.
We have also taken the following actions to protect our guests and staff from COVID-19:
1. We have standing policy that our staff do not come to work if unwell.
2. In addition to our usual high cleaning standards, we provide staff with masks, gloves and anti-bacterial/anti-viral disinfectant wipes and sprays to use in every villa.
3. Before you check in, every electronic key, handle, tap and counter surface will have been disinfected.
4. We have placed additional anti-bacterial hand sanitiser and disinfectant surface spray in each villa for your use.
5. As always we provide tissues and ample toilet paper.
6. The Nest has limited shared guests spaces (Reception) and this is cleaned and sanitised regularly. Our self-check-in services are ideal for preventing the spread of a virus.
Our spaces are sanctuaries and you should feel safe and comfortable here. We are lucky that The Nest is off the beaten path, peaceful and yet close to any needed amenities and services. For those worried about COVID-19, The Nest is a wonderful way to practice social distancing while having a relaxing and enjoyable time.

We often have staff on site between 10am and 1pm but rely majorly on self check-in and provide full details to guests the day before they arrive. We go out of our way to help guests settle in. Just give us a call if you need assistance to check in or once you arrive.
To provide more flexibility to our guests around COVID-19 we are no longer requiring payment at time of booking. This means if there are unexpected COVID hotspots that impact your booking, cancellation will be much easier. Take time to book soon as our reservation calendar is filling up quickly.
